Welcome to Rowan Health System’s Psychology Training Program
Rowan Health System’s Psychology Training Program provides students that are currently enrolled in PsyD or PhD Clinical Training Program an opportunity to expand on their education and experience by providing specialized behavioral health services to meet the needs of underserved and underrepresented populations in the community that struggle to access quality mental health services.Our Practicum Training Program is dedicated to provide an opportunity for students to:
1. Apply and expand on the information gained from academic courses;
2. Enhance and develop professional skills, competence and confidence in assessing, treatment planning, and treating individuals with a wide array of mental health issues using various evidence-based techniques/modalities;
3. Establish and build professional relationships with professionals (e.g., psychiatrists, primary health providers) within the community; and
4. Increase understanding of professional responsibility and ethics (including electronic-record keeping).
Students work closely with our esteemed team of supervisors and trainers in weekly supervision and didactic seminars to develop their expertise in implementing evidence-based and culturally sensitive behavioral health services to help individuals (adults aged 18 and over) will we be treating minors as well? and their families in our community to improve their overall health and well-being through high-quality, inter-disciplinary healthcare services. Students will learn how to utilize a holistic approach to promote overall well-being.
Treatment Modalities include: Advocacy/Case Management, Brief Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Integrated Health Care, Individual Therapy, Psychological Assessment, and Long Term Therapy.
